Well it was the top of the table clash we had been waiting for,unfortunately to many of us saved our worse game for this fixture , we started the game really well and had then pinned in their own half for the first 15 minutes , the on the first attack into our half with there appearing to be no danger their centre forward scuffed a shot from 20 yards and it ended up in our net ???? 1-0 down and now on the back foot , but we fought our way back into the game with Tristan running hard down the left wing , he tried his luck with a shot from 20 yards which the keeper could only parry and Daniel reacted quickest to poke home from close range 1-1 game on !!
The goal seemed to give us a bit of belief and we pushed hard for the next 10 minutes and were rewarded when Curtis rocket home from 6 yards after a goal mouth scramble , from there we should have pushed on , but we sat back and were caught on the counter attack with 2 minutes of the half remaining .. the Old Blues striker finishing from 8 yards Halftime 2-2 .
The second half for us was a non event , they managed to get the killer third goal that took the wind out of us , we battled hard to ry and get back into the game without really creating anything of any note , the only other talking point was the penalty awarded to us after Joey was upended in the box with 5 minutes to go .. after what seemed like an age the penatly was finaly given , up stepped Simon who hadn't missed a Pen since under 6's only for their keeper to make a good save low to his right hand corner , game finshed 3-2 to the home team . |
